Asus G55VW DH71 Keyboard Device Filter

'Keyboard Device Filter' is installed instead of 'Standard PS2 Keyboard.' This enables various key combos but it also maps characters to the wrong keys.

I'd like to get rid of Keyboard Device Filter and make a standard keyboard the default. How do I do that?

I've tried uninstalling it but the same thing is installed again on bootup.

    Thanks - rev

After uninstalling the unwanted driver, and before rebooting, what driver is shown in Device Manager? Did you try the Change Driver option?

I'm not sure if you'd be able to switch to a Standard keyboard. What version of the ATK driver are you using?

I was able to switch to a standard keyboard but it only applies to the external keyboard port. I turned off Sticky and Filters but nothing does any good. I'm waiting for a response from Asus but I'm not expecting much.

Maybe you can try the 1.0.0.5 driver from the Win8 section?

    Version V1.0.0.5

If you want to upgrade your OS from Win 7 to Win 8,to prevent software compatibility issue, please uninstall the older version driver before install the newer version driver

Unless someone else has the same laptop, you might better off checking out the Asus or ROG forums.

I will try it but I think I'll simply update the Keyboard Device Filter.
