Resolved [RESOLVED] Firefox does not display header on Blogspot

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium and was using Vivaldi browser. The browser's latest release apparently has problems with Avast, and their support tells me that is my problem, not theirs, so to solve it I need to use a different anti-malware program. I decided to use a different browser instead, and went back to Firefox, upgrading to the latest version. It's not bad, but when I go to Blogspot, on which I maintain a blog, Firefox does not display the Blogspot header, which contains tools on the right, like "New post" and "Sign In/Out."

I went to the Firefox support forum, and find that one has to register in order to participate there but, while I see a place to "Sign in," and notices saying that I must register, I see nothing on their support site that offers a way to register. Odd.

Anyway, can anyone offer suggestions as to why Firefox is not displaying the header and how to make it do so?

    To register go here:

    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new

pick the browser and then the topic then you'll be given an opportunity to register or sign in after you get past the generic questions and answers. It seems like they'd rather try to answer your question before they give you a chance to sign in for some reason. Maybe they don't want too many new signups or something.

VirtualDr email notices are not working.
    Check back regularly for responses.

What version of FF are you using? Do you have any add-ons installed?

I'm on FF 52.2.1 ESR and I see the dark blue banner/header bar. I also did a quick test with FF54.0.1 and it seems ok too.

I see the sign in also.
Got curious so hit F12 which opened web developer in console as saw lots of errors. Part of our browser under tools.
Selected the network tab and did the performance analysis. got 5 seconds which is a couple seconds to long.

    HTML 681 Errors, 235 warning(s)
    https://validator.w3.org/check?uri=h...Inline&group=0
    CSS Errors (57) Warnings (84)
    https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/...rning=&lang=en

Fixing the errors will speed the site up.

    fink:
I followed your input and registered with Mozilla. Left my question there but have no input with them so far.

    Midknyte:
Using version Firefox 54.0.1 (32-bit) with no addons. The 32-bit is interesting, since my os is 64-bit. Would that make a difference?

    Train:
I looked at the errors, and they are part of the Google system. I just type in the title and the text and tell it to display the post. The errors are all code which is indigenous to the blogspot program and beyond my control. That is to say, other than viewing it in the developer window, I have no access to that code.

I must say it does not make me overwhelmingly impressed with Google. Or with the deverloper who Google allowed to implement the platform, which still reflects rather poorly on Google.

Really odd that you're seeing header and I'm not.

The only add-on I have is uBlock origin. But using Firefox ESR 52.2.0 (64bit) A Linux version.

I had no idea it was a google item. Just got real curious and checked it out.

    Nope. I use 32-bit also.

Did you try clearing your cache?

    I also recommend uBlock Origin.

I cleared cache and removed cookies. Did not resolve the issue. I'm looking to see if Google (Blogspot) has a help system, but have not found one.

You could try a portable version of Firefox. That would eliminate something in your Firefox profile as the cause.

    Link to portable FF: https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable

You can just extract portable FF to your desktop; it doesn't need to be on a USB drive.

If portable FF works (clean profile), then you can try a Firefox profile reset/refresh:

By george you got it! FF portable did display the header, and then a Firefox refresh cleared up the problem. Keeps youall's track record at 100%. Thanks another time.
