    Extremely slow boot

Lately have been experiencing a very slow boot from 10 to 30 minutes. Running win10 on a dell
Service code Gwqmfb2. What should i look for?

Afraid to reboot lately since i'm not sure it will come back up. Thanks

So you have a Dell Inspiron 3650?
    http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/.../configuration

Did you look in Event Viewer for errors? Are there any error messages?

Slow boots could be caused by a bad hard drive, so I'd run hard drive diags. The UBCD5 link in my signature has instructions.

Are you trying to burn the disc image? Did you associate .iso with another program? If so, check out this link:
    http://www.intowindows.com/fix-burn-...-context-menu/

If the Burn disc image option is not appearing when you right-click on an ISO image file, it’s likely because ISO file is not associated with Windows Disk Image Burner program. Some disc burning software usually change the default association of ISO file type.

You'd need to look for errors in Event Viewer. They would have Red ! in the Level column.
    http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-3...nt-viewer.html

Screenshots of the list wouldn't help much, so make sure you get the actual error screens. It might be easier to just cut/paste the text, especially the error code and description.

To delete old attachments, click Settings at the top right corner. Go to Miscellaneous > Attachments in the left column. Then you can select and delete attachments.

I'd run a hard drive diag first. If the hard drive is going bad, there's no point in fixing software.

The device, \Device\Harddisk3\DR18, has a bad block.

This is the error I get. Mostly from 6/8 none today 6/9, so how do I run a scan on my hard drive with the iso I downloaded and burned to dvd??

How do I know which hard drive it is harddisk3/dr18 doesnt mean much to me. I have several external disks and it could be one of them.

You boot from the DVD, and then follow the instructions on Post #4 Hard Drive Test in my UBCD5 link.

I have several external disks and it could be one of them.
Then disconnect the external drives and see if the boot time goes back to normal. Your boot drive would normally be harddisk0

For external drives, you can run the Windows version of the diags.

    Which drive was it?

Did you run diagnostics or not? Did you disconnect all the external drives?

Uh, ok. Never heard of "Hard disk sentinal" before. I would have run the manufacturer's diags.

10-15 minutes is still extremely long to me. What do you mean you "disabled" the bad disk? Did you physically disconnect all the external HDs or not? We are trying to eliminate possible culprits.
