    Angry HDMI problem maybe?

I have a HDMI cord that we hook from computer to t.v to watch movies on big screen. Worked good last week but today it wont open the movie either on the computer or to the t.v. Do I need an update of some kind or what? If so can you tell me what or where?

Should add this is a new Windows 10 laptop.

Post the make and model of the laptop. There is probably a key sequence that enables/disables the external display.

I guess I am not savvy enough for that to make much sense to me. I did not originally hook this up for myself. We have left the cord hooked to the back of the t.v. and just plugged into the laptop when we wanted to watch Netflix or a DVD. It is fairly new, probably only used it a dozen times. All I had to do was plug the cord into my laptop and there we would be. Now nothing.

    Angry HUM, maybe a problem

I see NO media player listed on my computer. It is Windows 10 laptop and I have owned it since February. I cannot even get a DVD to play on laptop so no wonder when I connect pc to the t.v. nothing happens.

HELP, what could have happened? I sure did not mess with it. This is strange as I have been playing DVDs before on it and also connecting to t.v. to use the large screen.

Win10 doesn't come with a DVD player. You can install VLC instead.
