Cygwin
What ho one and all,
I know that running reg cleaner software is somewhat frowned upon, but I do so every now and then, using my favourite program, JV 17 PowerTools. Whatever the pros and cons, it has never screwed up my computer.
However, every time I run it, it finds some remnants of Cygwin lurking somewhere. I deleted these but they always reappear. I have had a look around the hdd and cannot see the program; I have Googled and am at a loss as to what it actually does and since I cannot find it, how to remove it. There are a couple of references to cygwin1.dll relating to get i-player and Any Video Converter, but no reference to a program.
So what is it and why does it continue to, phoneix like, rise from the deleted ashes?
Toodle pip and thanks
Rex
What if the Hokey Cokey IS what it's all about?

Using the Everything Search Engine
https://www.voidtools.com/
Searched for Cygwin
and found it as a part of LibreOffice. It is basically UNIX API that has been worked over so it will run Window, Linux and Mac.
I would leave it alone myself.
