windows XP periodically loosing personalized settings
Lately for the past week when the PC wakes up from sleep mode ., I get on screen message that PC doesn't recognize personalized settings .. I then go ahead boot into the user I need ( out of two) and the PC goes to the original 'Bliss screen' with rolling clouds and only the default one or two icons ,.,
I do use windows 10 but there are family members who still use windows XP for the outlook 6 mail .. so i nthe mean time I'm looking at either fixing this problem or backing up and reinstalling windows xp fresh with sp3 I have saved in a zip file ..
Ideas for a fix to this??
thanks

only new I have done since this happened was to run a through antivirus scan / malware (mcafee) checkup ..
googled this scenario and found out either create a new ntuser.., or
Open msconfig and choose selective startup (disable everything from loading) and reboot. Does the problem still occur? If not, start adding items back to msconfig one or two at a time, rebooting after each change, until the problem reappears and you'll have identified the offending process.
