Win 10 file explorer
I have some program shortcuts on my desktop. How come I don't see them listed when I go to desktop in file explorer?

Which shortcuts are you looking for? Note: Some may be in the All Users\Desktop folder.

Hi JDC2000. They are shortcuts from programs that I had installed on my laptop. This is the first time using win 10. Previously, I was using win xp pro. I don't see all users. All I see c/users/my name.

Instead of All Users, Win10 uses the Public user. Like most system folders, Public\Public Desktop is a hidden folder. You'd need to show hidden folders in order to see it.
BTW, it's C:\Users\Public. c/users/my name would be more like Linux, but there is no C: in Linux.

Midknyte, after showing hidden folders, I now see public user folder. What I am trying to do is create a folder on my desktop to move these shortcuts into that folder, so my desktop doesn't become cluttered. How can I create a folder on my desktop? I tried to create a folder from public desktop folder but I didn't see that option.

Are you the only user on the computer? If that's the case, you shouldn't have to mess with the Public Desktop in the first place. Just create a new folder on the Desktop and drag and drop the shortcuts in there. They will be moved out of the Public Desktop folder and into your new folder.

Yes, I am the only user on the laptop. That worked. Thanks Midknyte.
