    http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-error-268d3-virus.html

My neighbor contacted me about this virus ( or malware ) on his PC .. He never clicked on any links or called any numbers,
just shut his PC down after he wrote some notes for me to investigate ..

I'll be tackling this issue next week.. should be fairly routine .. any advice for pre or post followup ..?

Adwcleaner, Malwarebytes and step by step with graphics.
    https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-error-268d3-virus/
and some other steps listed at that link.
I would run JRT and skip hitman.

ran malwarebytes . .and the adcleaner.. kept the logs .. thanks !

I asked her what sites produced these malware and the answer was regular MSN main page for new and the links provide for the storys provided ..

wonder if Microsoft MSN is aware of their very own main page/ sites are as contaminated as they are .???.

i also used ad w cleaner which is a new area for malwarebytes to their family .. it worked in a third of the scanning time .,

its funny ( or not so) that windows defender with her win8 did not protect her PC ..
