[RESOLVED] Windows dock without my permission
Sliding, expanding windows
I have Win7 Ultimate plus Classic Shell, less than a month. Can't find this anywhere on the web. When I choose to keep a window small, it will slide and dock at the edge, expands to full size, and make the screen flash blue (not BSOD, light blue.) I don't know if the OS or Classic Shell is causing this, but it's driving me nuts. (Yeah, I know, I was already nuts before this.)

Only on my laptop with a touch screen do I have something like that happen. But I am run Win 10 though. No classic shell or anything like that either.

Possibly useful link:

Check the part about the setting in Ease of Access Center in Control Panel.

I think you're talking about Aero Snap. That is an OS feature; not Classic Shell.

You can disable Aero Snap if you don't like it.

Are you saying the window moves to the side by itself? That's not normal.

Not by itself. It slides and opens if I move it over a bit and it gets too close to the edge. Sometimes I need portions of 3 or 4 windows open.
I had already posted at sevenforums without results. You hit it, Midknyte :-D I love all these "improvements" that MS puts in each version. And I love all you guys. Anyone single?

Just make sure the mouse pointer doesn't hit the edge as you are dragging the window.
If you want more control of the snapping, you can try Aquasnap.

I actually like Aero Snap. I can snap docs to the left and right like a split-screen. Snapping to the top for full screen is useful too.

Fixed everything. Nothing's happening to the pointer.
I'll look into Aero Snap. I've been using the Taskbar "arrange horizontally or "vertically" for years. Time to enter the 20th Century.
