[RESOLVED] Want to add 3rd monitor..
My basic, somewhat older but fully functional for what I use it for rig is and has been running
with a dual monitor setup since I built it years ago but I want to add a 3rd monitor.
It's got an ASUS P7P55D pro MB and an MSI N9800GT 1Gig video card w/ Windows 7pro and a 1st series core i5 CPU. I only use it for basic surfing, email, watching Youtube etc videos and pictures of cats.. lots of cats LOL. I never use it for gaming or any kind of extremely demanding graphics requirements.
I have room for a second PCIe 2.0 x16 card with the thought that it could run another monitor, which I would use mainly for keeping my email client open and visibly running rather than minimized which I've usually done or occasionally a second browser window. I have a good 600 watt Thermaltake PSU so that's not an issue and my case is well ventilated with good air flow through.
a) Would this conceivably work as I'd like?
b) Would this card be a reasonable choice? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814127515
c) Any other suggestions for around the same price?

A very basic card and should do nicely. Now, the driver you have now, my guess, should do the trick.

That card should work just fine for your needs.

Arrived last night, installed it this am and it works great. It's even cooler running than my main GPU despite being a tiny bit confined in the case... 37 vs 50 Degrees C average. I increased the speed of my intake fan a notch anyway just because.

Great news.
As for the speed up, I would have too.
