Updates
hi,
got this new HP Desktop comp just before xmas
8 gb of memory etc ... windows 10
but every day a blue window appears.... comp is restarting in 10 mins to install updates.... think they must be windows updates....
I dont have any say in the matter and the comp shuts down ... like today... and restarts.
today took 10 mins.... very frustrating , then when it came back... 5 mins later it rebooted itself again !!!
OK I can understand the need for updates, but maybe once a week or once a month ...
Is there any way I can control this and maybe schedule updates for once a month ?
thanks for any help or advice

How to see what updates were installed, or were attempting to be installed but failed:

If you are getting regular failures of updates to install, post the updated information and we can try to see if there is a fix for the issue. Even with Windows 10, there should not be daily or even weekly updates.

Did the Windows Update History show which updates are installing/failed?
Which build/version of Windows 10 are you running?

You could try to manually download and install this month's security updates. I know the link says it's for Edge, but the downloads are for the monthly cumulative update.
