TRYING to burn vid file to disc
hi,
I made a vid a slideshow using photostage
it took 6 hours to process the slide show but I ended up with
a 27 minute video... pics... vid clips ... 4 songs etc
in all 300 meg avi
I got up dvd flick and went for the burn...
2 hours later the process stopped... the reason
error 70 permission denied.... !
Ive been on google search about this... even downloaded a fix tool
it did a scan then ... of course..... the next page was a
... choose option paypal or visa !
anyone got a little advice about this prob ?
should I be having so much grief just to burn a 27 min vid onto dvd disc ?

Since you're using XP as an OS you should be able to do the burn following these instructions. I have not used MS photostory 3 as they suggest but CDburnerXP has been my go-to burner for years on all Windows OS versions.

You could also try just using your existing slideshow and burning it with CDburnerXP as is. That's the first thing I"d try.

Yes. CDburnerXP will burn DVDs as well. That's what I use too and don't burn CDs anymore, just DVDs.

both times Ive ended up with a video with sound but no pics
never seemed to have all these probs with my old desk top and xp .... all I have now is this laptop and windows 7

If that's the case, remove the old info from your signature.
Is this the software you are talking about? I've never used Photostage before.

finally managed to burn that video to disc ... but only with a new comp
a HP with 8 meg of memory £299 from Argos
it did the job pretty quickly
I put the disc into my dvd player and bingo it played in there
Only one disappointment.... the video had a good 2" margin top and bottom
and even more... prob 4 " at each side.
Of course Id like the video to fill the TV screen
could it be that I had some wrong settings when I made the slide show in video pad ? have I made in in a small dimension 750 by something instead of 1050 ?

Did you make the video 4:3 instead of 16:0?

Do you mean 16 by 9 ?
yes that could be it,.... think I may have made it with photostage and there are a few
options when you come to .... finally ... make.... the video looks like a took a wrong option somewhere. Luckily I kept a log of the project so I could have another go
at making the disc
Im on a brand new comp right now so Ill have to start downloading the slideshow software .... yet again !

Could you edit your signature to be on one line, or at least take out the extra blank rows? Otherwise, it'll take us longer to scroll through threads. Thanks.
Something like:
Desktop: Win10 Home x64, Intel Pentium N3700@1.60GHz, 8GB RAM

Did you burn a DVD-video disk or just burn the video file to disk?
If a DVD-video disk, remember it has a limited range of resolutions compared to modern day video files, eg max 720x576 Pal(Uk), 720x480 Ntsc(Usa), so source video of higher or different resolutions/ ratios will have to be cropped, letterboxed or pan and scanned etc to fit .
Your video making software should have various options on what to do.
Current PC
Zoostorm
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, (XP Mode virtual pc enabled)
WEI 7.4, 7.6, 7.9, 7.9, 5.9
Intel Core i5-2310, 8GB Ram
Geforce GTX 660 OC
Samsung Syncmaster SA300 23.6" monitor
Folding@home
User Name Sintares
Team guru3d
There is no such thing as overkill. 'Open fire' and 'is it dead?' are the only sane options when threatened.

i made the 27 min video I think in the end I used Photostage to get it together
that resulted in a Avi video
think I then converted to mpeg2
I used this video file with dvd flick... put in a dvd disc and burned it

cant think what you mean by that.... as I say I made a video with the slide show software.... photostage...
the end result was an avi video 27 mins long
with my new desktop and dvd flick I managed to burn it onto a dvd disc
this disc played ok in a dvd player.... only prob the wide margins all around the video
you want the tv screen to be filled with the video... not to have 4 inch wide margins each side of the picture !
I think what I should do is make another video in photostage.... say 4 mins long... then record what options I choose..... and any dimension options
then burn that vid onto a dvd rewriter disc.... and keep doing it until I get
the right combo for the vid to .... fill ... the TV screen .....
I ll get there in the end !
