The 6430 would probably be my choice also, unless I could afford this:

    Or maybe one of these:

Train, the reviews didn't appear to be that great on that site. I am so confused on which laptop to buy.

There is no single perfect laptop for everyone . . . which is why there are so many choices.

Only you can decide if an item has everything you need/want at a comfortable price, then pull out your credit card and jump all over it.

Tomorrow there will be even more choices, as well as new needs/wants.

Hi SpywareDr. What you said is true. It is not so much finding something that has the features that I would need, but finding something that won't act buggy and hopefully will have a decent life with good components. Reviews is hopefully an indicator that may help reduce such issues. There is too many choices that makes it difficult to select a good purchase.

Keep in mind that the majority of laptop reviews out there are for yesterday's laptops. And, if the manufacturer has been listening and corrected any of the problems, then the old reviews are probably not very relevant for their new products.

SpywareDr, I was considering a refurbished Dell cause I was looking for win 7 pro unless win 10 would be a better choice and want to recommend a good new laptop that has a good track record of having a long life. I am currently using win xp pro.

Unless research has shown that you have a program that will NOT run on Win 10, that is the route I suggest.

    I agree, Windows 10.

Dells are fine. If you have a problem, just call them.

Does anyone use an Apple laptop? I know someone that receives a 30% discount from their employer for apple and dell pcs and laptops. I was wondering if an apple laptop may be a better choice?

And with Apple products, NEVER, NEVER lose a password. Which you will be using more that you do in windows.
