Vobs to MPEG2
hi,
Ive been going thru some old vid tapes and getting 2 or 3 min clips onto a dvd disc
putting the disc into the comp
sending the 20 or so files to documents
then opening up .... any video converter .... and converting the vob files to mpeg2
I ve had no probs over the past 2 years... working mainly on an old desktop comp
that comp went a over t just lately so Im now having to use my lap top
I have .... any vid converter .... software on there
however now I convert to mpeg 2 and find Im getting converted files that are lasting about 10 seconds
when they should be two or three minutes long.
I ve also tried converting the vobs with ..... freemake video converter..... only to get the same results
vid files of 100 meg turning out as 15 second clips !
I cant figure out wots going on !

Compare the old computer to this laptop.
CPU, ram, hdd speed. My old AMD 2500 Barton, 2 GB of ram, needed 2 hours to do what my AMD 8150, 8 GB of ram, does in 10 minutes
IDE hdd, 7200 RPM vs SATA 7200 RPM hdd. And a SSD would be faster yet.
