Win 98se will not load

Win 98se will not load. All I get is a bunch of text on the screen. In have tried to get into safe mode
several times and nothing works. Is the hard drive going bad? In safe mode I want to run config safe.

Is any of the text you are seeing readable, or is it just random characters?

Do you actually get the boot menu where you can select Safe Mode?

If yes, are you getting the same text when booting into Safe Mode?

The text I get is words. I disconnected my Hard Drive and booted up again. This time the same text appeared with the message Boot Failure.
I tried all the steps to start safe mode and nothing worked. Just a few days ago the computer asked me to run scandisk. It took about 6 hours
but found no bad sectors. Do I have a hard drive failure? Is there another way to get into safe mode to run config safe?

If you are actually getting text, what does it say? Does it provide any useful information to you, or us, that might help determine where the fault is?

If you disconnected your hard drive, then you won't be able to boot unless you have some other bootable media in place.

What happened when you tried to boot into Safe Mode? Did you get the boot menu? What error messages did you get?

We need information on what you are seeing if we are going to be able to assist you.

I have a copy of the screen showing all the text in a PDF but how can I get it to you. Is there an email I can send it to?

To attach stuff, yes pdf is accepted, click the GO advanced button, the scroll down to Manage attachments.
A aplet will open , that will allow you to attach stuff.

Yes a pdf can be attached

click the GO advanced button, below to the right, then scroll down to Manage attachments and click it.
A aplet will open , that will allow you to attach stuff. See the browse button. You use it to browse to your file.

The brouse button does not work. I cannot attach my PDF. I can attach it to something but how do I get it in the relpy. The PDF opens and shows the screen but
I cannot move it to a reply.
