Samsung ATIV Tab 5 XE500T1C-K01US 11.6-Inch Detachable 2 in 1
My Daughter is in school and need a tablet with detachable keyboard so she need to use it to study bone structure in a medical class. She wants it
light so she can sit on a couch and study it without using a heavy laptop. I found the following on Amazon:
Samsung ATIV Tab 5 XE500T1C-K01US 11.6-Inch Detachable 2 in 1 For under $200 used. It spec show an Atom processor. This seems slow to me.
Should I buy this one or is there a better alternative.

Does this Samsung come from an established company with any sort of warranty? Generally I'd be more inclined to buy a refurbished unit than a used one since refurbished implies that it has been brought back up to original factory specs and checked for malfunctions. It also usually means that it's being sold by a legit sales company that would be able and willing to back up it's products with replacement, repair or refund (read the fine print ).

It depends on what software she will need to run. For most uses, it should be just fine.

If you want to go Atom, you should, at least, go for something a bit newer with Baytrail processors. This Samsung Ativ shown, as an Atom Cloverview with SGX graphics onboard. With Baytrail and Cherry Trail, performance of Atom processors has doubled and have much better graphics performance.
