How do I make sure MBAM is NOT running?
I tried a Windows System Restore and it didn't work. An info screen suggested it might be because an anti-virus program is running but I don't know how to check. There is no icon in the tray.
Thanks - rev

It would only be running if you have the pro/paid for (or temporarily free trial version if you just installed it very recently) and it would load like any other Windows program at boot. If you do have that and it's not in the systray then also have a look in windows task manager/processes for mbam.exe and mbae.exe which are both related to mbam. You can end the process on each of those entries if necessary.
FWIW I have the paid for version and it's never interfered with a system restore.
VirtualDr email notices are not working.
Check back regularly for responses.
