Hmm. And there is no Memory Card reader entry in the BIOS? If the BIOS doesn't see it, then Windows won't.
This is what Dell calls it: O2 Micro OZ600xxx Memory Card Reader

I found a driver for the sd card on Dells downloads and installed it but still not working. Since the slot has a spring
resistance when I push in an sd card does that mean the port is there??
Also my express card which was working is now not working. How can I fix this. No tone when I push it in and is dead.

I told you where to get the Memory card reader driver in post #12. Installing the driver would do nothing if the device is not enabled in the BIOS.
So there is no mention of a memory or media card reader in the BIOS? The spring is a good sign, but you need to make sure it is enabled in the BIOS.
Try removing the express card from Device Manager and allow it to redetect. You might also want to reload the Intel chipset driver from Dell.

I found this in device manager. Is this the one I remove and it will reinstall for the express card.
SMART CARD READERS:
BROADCOM USBCCID SMARTCARD READER (WUDF)
I don't want to mess up and remove the wrong one.

No. Smart Card is completely separate from Express Card or Memory Card readers. Smart Cards are using for security/ID.

What kind of expresscard device do you have? I meant you should reload the expresscard device's drivers.

SMBus is the system management bus controller. That's not the expresscard slot, but it could be related to the problem.
Did you install the Intel Chipset drivers? SMBus is part of the chipset. I already posted the link in post #20.

I have a BYTECC 2 port express card.
Next time, just write another post instead of going back and editing. It's easy for us to miss things.
What is the exact model? Did you check the BYTECC website?
Then install it. SMBus is part of the chipset. Chipset drivers should be one of the first things installed after Windows. Whoever loaded Windows must have missed it.

Which chipset driver did you download? You should have gotten this one:
File Format: Hard-Drive
File Name: Intel_Chipset-Software-Insta_A04_R304291_setup_ZPE.exe
Then you just run the .exe file; you don't have to extract it with Winzip first. The Intel setup should run automatically after the files are extracted. If not, run Setup.exe from the Dell drivers folder.
I can't really answer about your Bytecc card, since you didn't provide the model number or at least a link to the driver. You should load the chipset driver first anyway.
