Resolved [RESOLVED] Macrium Reflect Backup not working after upgrade to Windows 10

I have just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I am using Macrium Reflect Backup but since the upgrade I notice that the software is no longer doing the daily scheduled incremental backup. I presume that it will not do the full backup either which I have scheduled for the beginning of each month. I still of lots of space left on my external backup drive. I have heard that I need to uninstall and reinstall the software using my license key for this software. Can anyone tell me if this is the right procedure to follow? Any help in this manner would be greatly appreciated.

What version of Macrium Reflect are you using?

    Possibly useful link:

That appears to be the latest version. It should work with Windows 10, but you might have to uninstall/reinstall. You may want to check with Macrium to be sure though.

    Hi again jdc,

I contacted Macrium but did not get much help from them so I decided to use another external hard drive and was able to do a fresh backup from scratch. The other drive still shows on my PC and I was wondering if there is a way to stop it from running. I have physically removed it from the PC but it still shows up as an external drive.

    Thanks again in advance,

    Brian

USBDeView will show all devices and allow you to remove those no longer in use:

Did you check the scheduling on Macrium? It uses the Windows Task Scheduler, so you might check there as well to make sure the job is set up.

    Train and JDC,

You are quite right but I could not find where to eject or safely remove it. After a bit of research I found it in the “show hidden icons” in the notification area. I reinserted the external hard drive and I was able to safely eject it. Thank you for drawing this to my attention.

It now no longer appears under file explorer. It is still showing in the “scheduled backups” tab of Macrium Reflect. Is there a way to get rid of it there?

I have checked the sites JDC has suggested but cannot find how to remove it from Macrium Reflect.

Thanks for any help on this.

    Brian

The scheduled backups are run using the Windows Task Scheduler. You need to use that to manage the scheduled backups.

You can open Control Panel -> System and Security -> Administrative Tools -> Task Scheduler to work with the scheduled tasks.
