Burning DVD - Video
How do you tell when a DVD drive is going bad? If not, is the software a problem or the DVD disk?
Do you need a special software to create a video DVD? I am getting errors & the disks in VLC say they are corrrupted.

Did you try playing the DVDs in another computer?

Per your instructions above, I used a Lens Cleaner. Then I tried the same software again & still got an error. Software I am using came with my computer. It is Cyberlink DVD - Power2G. I have never received an error until recently. I am wondering if software needs updated. I do not know if one exists.

I do not have another computer unless I bring back my XP computer. I really do not want to do that unless absolutely is necessary.

My point is that you want to confirm if the discs are good or not. If they work in another computer's drive, then it's more likely that your drive is bad.

I took my computer to the repair shop & we determined it was the drive.
