Homeland Security advises Windows users to remove QuickTime
QuickTime for Windows is no longer supported by Apple and users should uninstall the program immediately. That's the latest warning from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, following a Trend Micro report saying the software is vulnerable to two zero day exploits.
Christopher Budd from Trend Micro said users shouldn't hesitate and move to uninstall QuickTime as soon as possible :
We’re not aware of any active attacks against these vulnerabilities currently. But the only way to protect your Windows systems from potential attacks against these or other vulnerabilities in Apple QuickTime now is to uninstall it.

Thanks for the info! This is important. I have QuickTime on my home laptop. Can't remember when I last used it but it's there.
But I always laugh when the US govt issues software warnings. At work, we are legally required to file a report (online) with the govt, where they force you to use a highly outdated version of Java. If you use the latest Java version, you cannot file the report. Java over the internet! Now that's safe!

I wonder if that includes other players that play Quicktime but aren't the original software. There are lots of them including VLC & Zoom Player, both of which I use and all these others..

I can't remember the last time I played an actual Quicktime movie/clip.
