Resolved [RESOLVED] Sending photo on Nexus 5 smart phone

Whenever I try to attach a photo on Google Messenger on my Nexus 5 phone with Marshmallow OS it will not send and sends back the message "not sent - touch to try again". I am trying this on wifi not with a data plan.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Isn't Messenger an SMS/MMS app? If that's the case, then you'd need to have Data enabled to send pics.

If you're on WiFi, couldn't you use Hangouts instead?

I can send pics on BBM when I'm on wifi. Google has the following in one of their sites about Messenger:

You can send and receive text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages using the Messenger app . Messages sent through the Messenger app are considered texting and don't count toward your data usage.

Tip: You can send texts over Wi-Fi even if you don’t have cell service. Just use Messenger as you normally would.

I'm not a Marshmallow or Messenger user. Not sure if anyone around here is.

Did you try the Nexus support forum?

If Nexus support didn't help, I'm not sure who would be better.

You didn't say who your carrier is. They may not allow MMS over Wifi.

I'd still give it a shot with Hangouts, or even another text app like Textra.

I know this is for Lollipop, but it may help:

I will take your advice and Use Black Berry Messenger for MMS and Google Messenger for text.

Thanks much for your help and input.

    Regards,

    Brian
