Wireless Internet not working
Hey
I have had som wonderful help from the great people on this site in the past - thank you so much for that.
I am having a new issue now in that I can not connect to the internet on Wireless but as soon as I plug in the ethernet cable it works.
I have tried all of the steps on the following microsoft site; http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IE/w...h=winvistatab1
and I still cant get through on my wireless connection. I have also checked if the network drivers are up to date. I think I might have a virus which is blocking me from getting on the wireless - but it could be just a wireless issue - I am not entirely sure
I am running Windows 7 home Premium
Any help would be very much appreciated
Kind regards
Jack

Moved thread to the Networking forum. The ICU is only for virus/malware scanning threads.
If you want to get diagnosed for viruses/malware, you need to follow these instructions:

What is the make/model of the computer, network card, and wireless router?
Did you reboot the router? You should reboot the router even if the wired connections are working.

Appreciate it Midknyt
The computer is a DELL Inspiron N4110
There are 6 network adapters listed in device manager (Which seems like a lot)
I think the one in use is the Intel (R) Centrino (R) Wireless-N 1030.
Thanks for your support

You didn't post the make/model of the router.
Did you reboot the router like I mentioned?

Hey
Apologies, My router is a technicolor TC7200 U
In order to reset the router do I need to put a pin in the back of it or just unplug it and then plug it back in again?

Just power off and on. I said reboot, not reset.

ok that is done. The wireless appears to be working now on Chrome. It takes a very long time to load up on Internet Explorer however.
Thanks for your support so far.

Rebooting the router is one of the first steps, even if the wired connections are working.
If you don't have that modem/router on a UPS, I highly recommend you get one. Routers can be sensitive to power fluctuations.
