    Resolved [RESOLVED] Tech support facilities within W8.1 pc

    In XP one could see listings of the properties of the pc's hw and software and could also access HELP without going onto the internet. Those capabilities surely (?) must be there in W8.1, right? Would someone please tell me how to get to them? Thanks. ...wdc

    Got to Settings (the gear at the bottom of the Charms Bar on the left side of the screen), then click on either PC Info or Help. You can also reach PC Info via the Control Panel and Help by pressing the F1 key.

    The Help is intended for online use. Offline, it is very limited. (IMO, Windows Help stinks. Google is your best friend if you're stuck on any version of Windows.) To force offline help, once you have Help up, look at the lower left corner. You can click either Online or Offline.
