    Shortcuts to often-used strings

Would someone please remind me how to create shortcut keys (like, say, Alt + D) that would insert my library card number into a text file? Can I do that within W8.1 or do I have to install a special app to do that? Thanks. ...batpark

Keyboard shortcuts also called access keys, shortcut keys, and key combinations.
Pretty sure it can't be done without some sort of app.

Approx how many times a day do you need to do this? Couldn't you just have a notepad file with the info and you copy it as needed.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

You can also use various clipboard expander utilities.. eg-

VirtualDr email notices are not working.
