Connecting an older Laptop to a new HDTV

Hello. I have an LG HDTV without WiFi that can get connected to my home wireless network by using an LG blu ray player that does has WiFi. This setup allows me to connect my TV to my older Toshiba laptop (no HDMI port) and watch videos I place in a public folder.

I do not have cable TV. Just don't believe in it. I watch what is stored on my laptop.

I am purchasing a second TV soon. Don't want to spend money on a smart TV. Just want to get the best price on a 40 to 50 inch set and use a streaming device to connect it to my laptop instead of buying another WiFi blu ray player.

It would also be nice to mirror what is on my laptop to my new TV.

Which of the streaming device would work best for my needs?

    Thank you.

With an older laptop that has no HDMI port or no WiDi capability, your options are limited. The links below might give you some ideas.
