Are you sure you chose ISO Image?

    Format Options:
Uncheck "Check device for bad blocks"
    Check "Quick format"
Check "Create a bootable disk using ISO Image"
Click the CD icon button, browse to your ubcd5##.iso file, and click Open
Check "Create extended label and icon files"

ILS? So you were able to create the bootable flash drive successfully?

If so, please run the WD Data Lifeguard tools like Broni said.

Wait a minute. Are you trying to create a UBCD5 flash drive or not? A bootable UBCD5 would have boot, pmagic, and ubcd folders. My instructions don't say to remove the flash drive. Leave the flash drive plugged in.

I don't see where you listed the make/model of your system. It varies by manufacturer. You should be able to go into the BIOS and change the boot order. Or there might be a one-time boot menu. You can try pressing F2, F10, or F12 during boot.

Did you read post#4 in my UBCD Guide?

OK. From what I can tell, you created a WD DLG flash drive, not UBCD5. That should be enough to run the diags. You also need to copy the dlgdiag5.exe onto the flash drive. You're following the pdf from WD, correct?

You still didn't say what the make/model of your system is.

My procedures for UBCD5 also use Rufus, but I use an .iso. That's why I thought you were making a UBCD5 drive, not WD.

That is the model of the hard drive, not your system. Like I said, different manufacturers have different boot procedures.

You could just try rebooting the system and see if it detects the usb drive as a boot drive.
