[RESOLVED] Switch cable from SATA II to III?
Is it possible to simply switch a SSD cable from SATA II to a SATA III port on the motherboard? Would it even make a noticeable difference in speed on a 5 year old i5 Win7 PC?
(Hard disk mode is set up for AHCI in the BIOS.)
There are 2 other HHD storage drives plugged into SATA II ports if that makes a difference.

Load times will be real close. Spinners or SSD.
Big difference when you stop using a spinning disk. But moving from a SATAII to a SATAIII didn't do much to my load times. A second or so at best.

Interesting reading to me.

Looks like there's some conflict of opinion in that thread.. that's what I've found looking around as well.
EDIT-
BAH! As it turns out it was already plugged into a SATA III port. I should have looked sooner. Serves me right for believing what I was told by a software program.
"userbenchmark.exe".. something I recently used to benchmark my HD speeds. Clearly not entirely accurate.
