lost system restore

For some reason I've lost the previous settings of System Restore. Tried to create a new setting, but when I tried to access it, I get a message that I don't have a system resore setting.
Havent't had this happen before - completely puzzled.

jdc2000, tried to post a snippet, but guess I forot the procedure. Anyway I had a clone - copied that over and I'm set, better than doing a complete reinstall. Thanks.
