I want to get internet signal from my neighbor's modem, is there a limit to how long the cable can be?

100 meters for Cat 5 cable.
But, you can do 100 meters, install a switch, then go another 100 meters.

RJ-11 is telephone style. CAT5 Ethernet is RJ-45.

What's the switch you mentioned above? Does it have a name? Do you have a link?
Thanks - rev

Of course it's indoor only. If necessary something for outdoors would be more expensive and you'd need to consider how to power it.
VirtualDr email notices are not working.

I'm now connected to the neighbor's modem with a 60 meter CAT5e cable and of course it works like a charm if I plug the cable into a laptop. But I want wifi in the second house so I connect the cable to another modem. Wifi from that second modem doesn't work. It connects but 'no internet access.' Presumably, this is something to do with all the IP addresses involved? How do I fix it?
