All of my updates are in but 5 have failed. Security update (KB3023221), Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack service Pack (SP3), Security update for windows 7 for 64 based systems (KB3069392), Security update for windows 7 for 64 based systems (KB2992611) and Security update for windows 7 for 64 based systems (KB3010788). I am also having a problem with my Microsoft works calendar. I exported the icalendar and when I import it I get this: MS Calendar Import Error.jpg. I always back up 2 copies on two different media so I never lose a copy but now this happened. I really need my calendar. Any ideas?

You can try manually downloading the KBs and installing them. .NET 4 doesn't come preinstalled, so it sounds like you installed Optional Updates also.

What is the version of Works is it? I don't use Works, but a version number might help narrow down the search.

It's also possible that those updates failed because they had prerequisite updates that needed to be installed first.

Yes, I do install optional updates except if they are a named like Skype or Silverlight. I know I don't want these. It could be the updates had prerequisites although I installed the optional updates after the required ones were installed. Works version is 9.

Your call. I don't install any Optional updates unless I know that I need them.
You can take a look at this thread about Works, but I can't really provide much more help than a Google search:

I have two things still going on. All the failed windows updates have been installed as successful except for update (KB2742595) failed and is listed as important. The other thing is my Microsoft works calendar. I read the links given above and tried what was suggested with no success. I am really lost without my calendar. I have had many backups in the past made the same way with the .ics extension and when I reinstalled windows, they always worked. This just doesn't make sense.

Did you install KB2742595 manually or not?
Someone else will have to help you with the Works calendar. Like I said, I don't use it, so I'd basically be googling.

When I try to install the KB2742595 update manually, I get this message...KB2742595 does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your computer.

Nothing is working with the links. It's a stubborn update that something in my computer is possibility blocking it and I do not know what that is. More new updates came in today so maybe it will come in again and install. That is all I can hope for. I just hope it doesn't cause any problems on my computer because it's not updated.

This is why I avoid optional updates. Do you really need .NET 4 for anything? If not, Win7 comes with .NET3.5 preinstalled.

This update came in as "important", not "optional". It concerns me if it is suppose to be in my computer. I noticed that I am getting a lot more cookies than I use to without doing a high number of searches. One in particular is coming in with and end name of SQLITE through Firefox. Is that any concern?

.NET 4 is optional. If you installed .NET 4, then you would get Important updates to patch .NET 4.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/982671
.NET Framework 4 is an optional update on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and on Windows Server 2008 R2.
Firefox stores a lot of its data (bookmarks, etc) in .sqlite files. That is normal. I'm not sure why you're concerned about cookies anyway.
http://www.aboutcookies.org/default.aspx?page=5
Are cookies dangerous?
No. Cookies are small pieces of text. They are not computer programs, and they can't be executed as code.

Is there anyway to uninstall .net framework 4? The only reason I was concerned with cookies is that normally when I use superantispyware, it usually finds no more than 50 cookies at any given time. Now, I am seeing up to 300. I just thought this would lead to a lot of spyware on my computer. I will not be so concerned since you are telling me that any amount of cookies is fine. Thanks for the info.
