[RESOLVED] Updates for win 7
There are 23 updates for win 7, but win 10 free dpwnload is apparently part of those, when i try to down load the updates, it starts out saying you are downloading win 10, i don't want to. i just want the 23 updates,, how do you get around it? There is a difference in the size of the downloads considerably less than win 10.

I did read that first, but if i'm not mistaken, there are updates for win 7 buried in or under the win 10, unless i'm missing something how do you install those only? i do not want 10 as i have repeatedly said.

Uninstall the Win10 nag updates first and then hide them. It is explained in the sticky. Then you can install the other updates.

This morning the normal update list came up not showing win 10, when i started the updates, it switched to "you are now downloading win 10, get the setup files" so i cancelled it.
==========
apparently you do this?
KB3035583, KB3021917, KB3022345 and KB2952664
They all should be uninstalled and hidden. If later you wish to upgrade you can easily unhide them and reserve your copy of Windows 10.
Optionally some users have found that using Command Prompt to uninstall these KB updates has been more effective.
Open Command Prompt: start>run [type] cmd.exe ... open it. When the black CMD window opens [type] wusa /uninstall /KB:3035583 [enter] changing the KB number for each individual update. Do them one at a time. Note the "space" before each forward slash.
wusa /uninstall /KB:3035583
wusa /uninstall /KB:2952664
wusa /uninstall /KB:3021917
wusa /uninstall /KB:3022345

Yes. The specific update that puts the icon in the systray and downloading Win 10 is
wusa /uninstall /KB:3035583
But the others are related to preparing your computer to install Win 10.
VirtualDr email notices are not working.

After the last one is typed in and you hit enter, what is supposed to happen?

The computer reboots and the updates are uninstalled. Then you can manually hide each of them when they reappear in windows updates and continue on with Windows 7 and it's own necessary updates.

That unpinned the icon,, but it did not solve the updates, it is still installing win 10 set up files, not the updates that are there

Try doing a system restore to a date before Windows 10 set up files started to download.
