Re:Freeze in I.E.
Hello all, got the latest Internet explorer, on a windows 8.1 laptop. All upto date.
Problem I have is when I go onto the NS&I website in I.E. my laptop freezes, no way to get back on except to turn off, and restart. Have firefox works ok on that. Does not affect any other website as far as I am aware.
Have spyhunter, McAffee, Malwarebytes, spyware blaster, no problems found.
By the way, is malwarebyes, or is Spyhunter worth buying for a year, which is better??
Thanks for any replies, Gep

Looks like IE is being written out .
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1" />
<meta name="description" content="Home page" />

Hello Mydknyte, Train, I do a search for ns&i on google, click the link, freeze. Also just found out it does it on lastminute.com. It also does it from my links, so not googles fault.
Running my security software, mcafee, spyhunter has found some rubbish 98 Threats so far, and malwarebytes is running.
Shall I report back after scans.
Or is this a known problem in I.E. windows 8.1
Thanks for your replies, Gep

Hello Train.
The ad servers are messing with IE.
How do I fix this problem please???
Ran malwarebytes, spyhunter, mcafee, found problems, sorted them, but still freezers on some websites.
Thanks, gep

Use fF and add a ad blocker.
Why I gave up on IE years ago.
Fact is my ad blocker blocks 13 links at lastminute.com and that site does not seem to be written for IE to me.
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1" />
<meta name="description" content="Home page" />
Edge , the brower in Win 10 should work fine though. Not real up to date on that bit though.

Hello Train, forgive my ignorance.
What is fF, tried a google search, comes up with a Ferrari etc, lol
I will search for a ad blocker.
Downloaded AdBlock plus, installed, cannot see it in IE, or in Firefox.
Still freezing, and now found out it is also freezing Facebook.
Please can someone give me a fix for this problem.
Thanks, Gep

FF = Firefox
Are you using https://www.lastminute.com/
That seems to work for me on Firefox.
You didn't say exactly what MBAM found. You might need to get your system checked out on the ICU forum

Ad Block Plus would be in addon> Extesions
If it is not there after installing, I agree, the ICU forum is what you need to do next.

Ok. We'll see what Broni says about your logs. Once he gives you the "all clear" we can see if there are any other issues.
