If you have updates set to automatic you should have an icon in your system tray about it.

I normally do updates manually as well. I changed that to get the icon and pre-release download. I can only personally walk anyone through what I have done.

I'd say first be sure you want to go there.

Just to be clear, Windows 10 is not a Windows Update. The notifications for upgrade were installed as updates. Windows 10 is an UPGRADE to a new OS.

I highly recommend you make a backup of your current OS before attempting the upgrade. You should also check to see if there are drivers for your devices, like printers, scanners, etc.

The needed KBs were listed in the manual downloads.
Installed them on the laptop and uninstalled them on the desktop and then hid them for it.

That well may be a true statement but "IT WASN'T USER BEWARE TO STOP THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH"

Look closely and you will see a small dash for updates and DO NOT touch that big UPDATE to Windows 10
When I saw that big UPDATE button I stopped and did the uninstall
Open Command Prompt: start>run [type] cmd.exe ... open it. When the black CMD window opens [type] wusa /uninstall /KB:3035583 [enter] changing the KB number for each individual update. Do them one at a time. Note the "space" before each forward slash.
    wusa /uninstall /KB:3035583
    wusa /uninstall /KB:2952664
    wusa /uninstall /KB:3021917
    wusa /uninstall /KB:3022345

That got rid of WIN 10 junk at windows update. And cleared the junk of my computer.

Then I posted that here on the forum for others to use.

When i run cmd prompt.. non of these files are installed.

When i go to updates, win 10 is still on the download page

I removed them from win updates uninstall,

on reboot disconnected they still showed in one are of updates, but not in the unistall area.

Apparently it's headed to the shop,, they seem to feel they can do it.

The icon is not in the tray, but it never left updates, unless that's a bogus image and i could still do a critical update as it shows the size of the update selected, not the windows 2700 mb, but if i try it it may set off the install again.

egdufwollamhsram1851, if you need to check to see if Windows 10 was downloaded it should be in a hidden folder called "C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\" according to this article.

If there is no downloaded file you should be able to hide the update in "Windows Update".

Assuming nothing,, but certainly this page would go away if it were downloaded
