Can't get online after reformat
I finally reformatted my computer and everything has gone okay except that my network adapter won't connect me to the internet. I hve Win 7 Home Pro 64, Gigabyte mobo, 8 gigs RAM. I use an ethernet cable from the U-verse modem for my connection. The device manager indicates that
the Realtek adapter won't start. I installed all the mobo chipset drivers. No go.I'm stuck. The cable works on my laptop, so it's not the cable.
Boy, I'm tired! Next step is to buy a USB wifi device if I can't find the solution.
Thanks

What is the exact model of your motherboard? Are you sure you installed the correct NIC drivers? Chipset drivers usually don't include the NIC drivers.

Gigabyte P55. I get Code 10 when in device mgr. This device cannot start. The ethernet port blinks green when things are working. . Before installing the mobo chipset I had blinking white light. Couldn't use my USB 3 connections. After install the USBs work, but there is NO light at all. but the green light blinks on my laptop when using the same ethernet cable.

You need to be more specific than that. There are several P55 models.
If you don't install the correct drivers, you'll get a Code 10.

Install the LAN driver. That's the next step.
I'm guessing you mean this driver (Win7 64bit)

That driver should be on the Motherboard Disk.
Sometimes you have to look around on the disk, but knowing Gigabyte I'm sure it's there!
