Unhappy Really odd dual screen wallpaper issue

    Hi All,

I've got a really weird issue - check out this screenshot:

    Untitled.jpg

I've got 2 24" monitors connected via HDMI running 1920x1080. I'm using the 'tile' feature in the Desktop Background settings of Windows 7 in order to get dual screen wallpaper, but on the right screen the top of the image is tiling at the bottom. I used Print Screen to get this screenshot and interestingly it shows a black bar on each screen - these are not visible on screen!

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks

Have you checked the OSC [On Screen Controls] settings?

Excuse my ignorance, but where in Windows 7 is this exactly?

On my monitors, are controls for getting the pictures right. Size, width, height and some cant.

So, the on screen controls are built into the monitor normally.

Did that image previously look OK when tiled, or is this the first time you tried to tile this image?

Definitely looks like a Windows issue, at least for the tiling problem.

So the image is 3840x1080? If not, what are the dimensions?

Are you using any monitor management apps like DisplayFusion?

Yup, image is 3840x1080. Looked fine previously and haven't touch actual monitor settings so don't think it's that. Tried checking settings in Nvidia Control Panel too to no avail. Probably worth mentioning that I've swapped out my GTX 480 for a generic GPU due to the 480 overheating, BUT I remember it doing this shortly before removing the 480

When you go into the Control Panel - Display - Screen Resolution, are the two monitors lined up side-by-side? The monitors should be parallel to each other.

Did you uninstall the old video drivers?

You totally hit the nail on the head - well done! For some reason the screens were slightly out of alignment which was what was causing the issue - why are you able to even do this?!

    Thanks

That's more for monitors of different sizes. I often need to align the bottoms of my laptop and external monitors. Not sure why your would have gotten out of alignment.
