[RESOLVED] boot up woes ..
I have two harddrives and have them partitioned with three on one drive and two on the other.. the second harddive (first to boot up) is the old broken xp windows..( errors will not boot ) and I formatted and installed fresh windows xp on the first harddrive which will boot up when commanded to do so .. which unfortunately wants to always boot second .. which means on every start up I have to hit F11 and then select the drive I want to boot first ..
so I went into F2 and in the system under boot order selected the second drive to boot first .. then hit F10 to save but it still doesn't want to boot up in the order I selected ..
ideas ?

Because you left the old install there, you need to edit your boot.ini to set the second drive as the default.
Right-click My Computer and click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, click Startup and Recovery Settings.
In Default operating system, choose your current Windows path.
Click OK twice to close Properties
If that still doesn't work or you're not sure which setting to use, click the Edit button on Startup and Recovery Settings and paste your boot.ini settings here.
