[RESOLVED] Fed up with Firefox
Okay, I give up on Firefox (and Cyberfox). Please don't try and talk me into using it.
I am using Opera and it's a much smoother better stable browser.
is there another browser that IS SIMILAR TO OPERA AND USES THE SAME CODING?
thanks.

If you're satisfied with Opera, why do you want/need anything else? I've had Opera running on my computers for 13 years.

I think you have other system issues that are affecting FF, but we've been down that road several times.
Opera is based on Chrome now.
On 28 May 2013, a beta release of Opera 15 was made available, the first version based on the Chromium project

If Opera is based on Chrome, how come it operates BETTER than Chrome?

I am still using 12.7 of Opera. And today I had Opera check for updates and it said I have the latest Opera.

The core of Opera 15+ is Webkit like Chrome, but Google adds a lot of bloat. I'm sure there have been a ton of changes between Opera 15 and 29 (current).

@photolady
I'm guessing Opera 12 doesn't detect updates since it is based on the Presto engine, not WebKit. Opera may have discontinued Presto updates altogether.

I don't let Opera update on it's own. But a few weeks ago I was having a problem with it seeing a certain photo hosting site's photos, so I did a "check for updates" but it still didn't update to 15.
I don't let FireFox update automatically either. And I never use IE.

The old Opera 12.x series is dead. 12.17 is the last. I read somewhere that Opera laid off over 50 Presto developers once the switch to Chromium's/WebKit was running. It wasn't my favorite but I was glad it was around. Technologically, it kept things moving forward. Remember how long IE was stale!! May it RIP!

That's what I'm running Han, 12.17. As long as it keeps working fine for me, I see no reason upgrade. I run Malwarebytes, the paid version and MSE updated. I have no problems, and my computer is clean.

Here's the issue. Adobe Flash player and plug-ins. Adobe doesn't like FF and vice versa. I tried switching to Cyberfox and still got the same issues: freezing, crashing, "reload pages", etc. etc.
I switched to Chrome, wanted to watch Amazon Prime Instant Video and got a message "install Adobe Flash". Did that, restarted the computer, and Chrome still gives me the message when I try to run the video online.
I have Opera 29
[Browser identification
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/42.0.2311.152 Safari/537.36 OPR/29.0.1795.60 ]
I just want a browser that works besides Opera. I don't know about all these versions and updates. I just want a browser besides IE (which attracts viruses and malware) that will work. I could use Safari, but THAT also has its issues.
I wish Adobe would die.
I'm reading online reviews. Here are some browsers I never heard of. Anybody use them with success? (I'm using Windows 7 64 bit Home edition)
Maxthon
Avant
Superbird
Midori
SeaMonkey

Flash is going way and instead I use the HTML5 add on in FF or its various off spring like Iceweasle.

I downloaded Seamonkey and went to play the online video and it seems to work.
I don't know about all these various ADOBE flash imitators, but ADOBE flash needs to die.

That's good news! So when I download the latest versions of XXXBrowser then it should have HTML5 already installed? Or do I have to install it separately?
Well NOW -- using Chrome, and I can't see any of the images online. Not one. What happened? Oh Geez, sick of these browsers.
