Adobe Flash player crashed
On my Dell desktop with XP and Firefox Yahoo Edition 1.7 (V 36.0.1) ....
I received a pop-up message (that I cannot reproduce) to the effect that my Adobe Flash Player crashed.
I plan to:
1. Go to Control Panel\ Remove Programs and remove these items:
Adobe Flash Player 16ActiveX and
Adobe Flash Player 16NPAPI; and then
2. Reload a new version of Adobe Flash Player.
Is there anything else I need to do?
Can someone suggest a good download site, preferably one that does not also load in a bunch of “free” applications that I do not want? Thanks for your help. ... wdc

For Firefox you need the Plugin-based browsers version
Is this the same system with the low disk space? That could be part of the problem as well.

Midknyte: Yes I did ask about this problem before. However, I never followed through with the suggested fixes as the problem <seemed>to go away and, as I am a rank beginner, I was afraid I would cause more problems in the process. Even now the system still works even though I sometimes get these dire sounding error messages.
With more time available now I am ready to try the fixes and will review your references.
Re my limited disk space, I now have about 2GB (out of 33GB) free; don't see how to squeeze out more space (even though I have lots of GBs free in my external memory).
Re the plugin-based version of FF that you say I need: How do I go about getting that version?
Thanks for your help (and your forbearance). ...wdc

You need the plugin version of Adobe Flash since you are using FF, IE which does not use plugins, has a different Adobe installer and of course Chrome has its own internal flash support though can also use the system Adobe plugin if necessary.
Midknyte linked to it in his post.

I already posted the uninstall instructions. You should do that before you install the new version of Flash.
33GB is really small. By external memory, I'm assuming you mean a USB hard drive. That doesn't matter. The OS needs room for things like the pagefile. If you've already moved all your data off the system drive, there's not a whole lot you can do unless you want to uninstall some applications.

On the second link I posted it says:
Windows Plugin-based browsers All supported languages Download EXE Installer

Thanks all.
FWIW, I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player and reinstalled it --- and everything seems to be working fine, despite the limited free space on the system drive. ..wdc

It might be time for a larger hard drive on that system.
