Hard Drive
Dell Inspiron 3521 Laptop.
Hard Drive went bad. Installed a new HDD. When I started the Computer up, it asks for a password. Installed another HDD, it to asked for a password. Two new HDD installed in same computer, and get the same question asked, Then, I now believe that it has something to do with the memory, but I don't know how to fix it.
THANKs for any help to get this corrected.

Were you asked for a password when the original hard drive was in place?
Did you try to get into the BIOS setup?
Possibilities:
1. There is a BIOS password that has been set up and is required to boot the computer.
2. The BIOS has an option to encrypt the hard drive, and is wanting a password to use for that.

jdc2000,
This was my daughters computer, yes It asked for a pass word. I have used that password plus two other possibilities, but nothing works. How do I get into the BIOS and what do I look for when I get in?
Thanks for your information

Call her and hope she remembers, otherwise you need to find a Dell repair place.
Sorry, but that is something we can not help you with by the AUP.
