Cyberfox might be the answer to my internet problems

So I was on a message board and someone stated that they used Cyberfox. Cyber - what? Never heard of it. It's supposed to be a cousin to Firefox, which I've been having a headache with (sluggish, slow, Shockwave/Flash crashes, the browser crashes).
So I downloaded Cyberfox 64 bit because I have a Win7-64bit machine. It did the same thing that Firefox did -- sluggish, crashed.

Then I uninstalled it and noticed there was a 32 bit so I installed the cyberfox 32, and it seems to be working smoothly. no crashes so far.

So I'm wondering if the Firefox build is just not compatible with a 64 bit machine? I'm not the only one having trouble w/ FF, as the message board was about FF problems.

No. Firefox is 32-bit by default, but it runs fine on 64-bit systems. All my Win7/8 systems are 64-bit and I don't have any issues.

No so with me. FF sucks big time. But this browser seems to be OK.

If you google, "why is Firefox slow" there are a lot of messages and fixes for the problem. NOW - it seems after 2 days of Cyberfox - I'm having the same slowness problem. Oh well, back to Goog Chrome.
the problem with FF seems to bet he plug-ins and scripts. And I've listed my problems with it before. When I view the list of plug-ins, I need all of them.
I have to give FF the boot for once and for all. Done with it.

That is why there are so many browsers. Not everyone is happy with any particular one.
You like chrome and I detest it is a good example.
Using Iceweasel for a browser right now.

@Train - ah-hah you seem to be one of those (like me) who can't find a satisfying browser. What is it with the Browsers?

Well, sorry we couldn't help you figure out your problem.

I use FF ESR as my daily driver, but I have the normal release version as well. Not a fan of Chrome.

Iceweasle is Linux version of FF. Which i prefer when using Linux.

Only 2 add ons, uBlock and You tube HTML 5.

IMHO, there could be a problem with your Windows installation. Or, your ISP/Internet connectivity.

Other than some minor issues with IE in years past, I've never had any issues with any browser. Currently, I run Chrome and Firefox. Beyond myself, I support many friends PCs and 30 or so at work. Browsers are just never an issue for me or anyone I know.

Unlike HAN, I have had the opposite experience. I don't know of anyone who has not had browser issues at some point. This appears to be due to 2 major issues. First, browsers have become so bloated because they are being asked to do more and more things all the time, many of which are incompatible with each other. Second, web site designers give no thought whatsoever to the usability of their site. They try to cram so many features and functions onto each page that no browser can possibly load and run all of them at a reasonable speed or with a decent user experience unless you are running a dual 8 core Xeon system with at least 64 GB of memory. A perfect example of this was a news web site I tried to access recently to read a news story. It actually had at least 3 dozen videos embedded, all of which were set to auto run with audio simultaneously. I have no idea what idiot thought that would be a good idea.

I can relate to that except I was using my smart phone... Next day I got an alert that I was about to max out my data plan. I guess I didn't do something right and the videos kept loading and loading...
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

I have complained about the autoplay issue to a couple of webmasters of some news portal sites I read. They all basically say that there's little they can do about it because they just grab the embed code for the video from whatever original (or second, third, whatever hand) site they find the video and if it's set to autoplay then it's stuck that way. Apparently only the original video publisher can turn off the feature (although I'd call it a bug).

In Firefox, which I use pretty much exclusively, I have permissions set to ask before running/loading and Flash content and that usually takes care of it.

    fink -

Your "webmasters" are typical of the actual problem. They don't even bother to see what happens to their site page(s) when they just lazily paste in some embed code. From what I have seen it IS possible to turn off the autoplay if you spend a minute or two editing the embed code. They just don't want to be bothered.
