Bose MIE2i Mobile Headset
I have a family member who has the Bose MIE2i Mobile Headset. It is relatively new and he said all of a sudden sound stopped coming out of the right earbud. Does anyone have any suggestions what could be the cause?

It's harder to test out things like that on wireless headsets because most of the time the problem is with cabling/wiring. First make sure that the source is still putting out both channels by reversing left and right inputs on the headset transmitter to see if the dead channel switches. Then work your way down the line checking cables towards the headphones.
If the bud is completely dead.. ie- not even any residual background hiss then the problem is very likely the bud itself or the cable going into it. Those are not usually user fixable things so if it's still under warantee then that may be the only option to get it fixed other than paying for it.

Hi, Fink. I appreciate your reply and help. Can you explain how to "...reversing left and right inputs on the headset transmitter to see if the dead channel switches. Then work your way down the line checking cables towards the headphones. "

I mistook the description of "mobile" to mean "wireless" as in wireless headphones for a stereo or home entertainment system. Sorry. Forget about the reversing thing. Has he tried a different set of buds? Otherwise just jiggling the cables or maybe even gently tapping the earbud could indicate a cable issue if it comes back on intermittently.
