[RESOLVED] My C drive is almost full
I have a 70GB C drive and I only have 5GB left. Here is what I know.
I bought this computer used. It had Win 7 Ultimate installed and now it turns out is is not a reg copy.
I looked at C drive; and Program files (2.23gb), program files (x86) (2.8gb), Program data (1.3gb), users (8.2gb), and pagefile sys (1.2gb) are biggest amounts.
That does not add up to anywhere near 65GB. Yet I cannot find any other folders that have large amounts.
While waiting for an answer from you I will defrag, however I have done that maybe 3 months ago.
I am guessing here, and I think this came up when I got my first error message about this being a non reg copy of win 7. Just a guess and I am not sure.
What can I do? Thanks

Windows 7 will be taking up at least 10-20 GB.
Space analyzer tools:

One solution to the space issue would be to get a 500 GB hard drive for about $50.

I recently used WinDirSat on my 128Gig SSD and it showed me that my Windows restore points were taking up too much space. That shows as <unknown> after you do a scan with it. If this is the case with your drive you can go to control panel> system>system protection> configure and reduce the space being used by older system restore points by lowering the percentage of disk space allowed for them. see pic..

Thanks for the quick reply. I do have a 2 TB D drive so I store most everything there. I just don't understand how I got to 65gb so quick. I guess you think it has nothing to do with MS warnings about non reg win 7? I will do as you suggest fink and see what happens. Then on to what you suggested jdc2000.

You'll get warnings but nothing significant is actually done to the computer.
