    Matching RAM in Different Banks?

    Hi, I have a Hp desktop with 2 x 2GB of Hynix brand PC3-10600 memories in the 2 slots in one bank. I want to add another 2 x 2GB in the available 2 slots in the other bank. Do I need to buy the memory matching the Hynix already installed?

    Best bet buy a set of 4 and sell what you have now.

    Mismatched ram.
    1. Will not boot
    2. Boots but you have all kinds of hair pulling errors
    3. Works just fine

    Why I do what I posted.
