    Travel routers, any recommendations?

Looking at one of these to use with hotels and travel. ZyXEL 3-in-1 Wireless is one that I have been reading about. Is their one out there that is a good choice and simple to use and set up?
Note: My questions may be to help others
    Thanks, JB

    Things to consider:

    Price/budget
    Ease of setup
    Features needed / provided
    reliability

Some more links for you to check out, if you haven't already seen them:

I glanced at the setup manual for the Zyxel model you mentioned. It looks ok. In general, if you feel comfortable working with a typical router setup, IMO, they are all similar enough to get through.

I bought a TP-LINK TL-WR700N last year and it can function in AP Mode, Router Mode, Client Mode, Repeater Mode and Bridge Mode. I haven't used it much (I now have a costlier but handier cellular hotspot box that has been better for me and my needs.) I've read some reviews of the TL-WR700N that are negative for ease of use (probably because it adds complexity by supporting 5 modes) but I didn't think it was much different than other similar devices/routers I've tried.

Best advice for ease of use, IMO, is to read the user manual. If it's tough to get through, look for something else. (Of course, you can always come back here and ask for advice/help.)

Price-wise, the Zyxel 3 in 1 is fine. I did note that a few Newegg users had some issues with it. But IMO, I think that some users issues are expecting a completely automatic plug and play device. It doesn't always work out that way!

Bottom line, whatever you buy, make sure you can return it within a reasonable time. That will help with the buyers remorse potential.

A few security things to consider once you make your purchase...
Avoid WPS (Wifi Protected Setup) if you can. It's had issues!
Turn off auto UPnP (Universal Plug and Play). It's been exploited several times over the years!
    Use WPA2 for your encryption.
Change the Admin password. All routers come with the SAME password unless you change it!
