    Resolved [RESOLVED] mp3 to HDTV

Can a mp3 player be attached to a Samsung UN22F5000 HDTV successfully? After utilizing the red and white ports cannot get sound. In my ancient Sharp TV it worked fine.

It would help if you told us which cables you are using. I'm online over at Samsung and the tech is asking which cables are used.

    Also, if you go here:

You should get a pop up asking if you would like assistance and a chat box. Unless of course, you have a popup blocker on.

I am using the same cables that I use on my Sharp TV. Only thing it says on the cables is DLO. Hope that helps.

I never got an answer from the tech at Samsung because the chat window froze and I had to shut it down. Perhaps you should try talking to him using the link I gave you above.

After utilizing the red and white ports
You mentioned red and white. Do you mean RCA cables? Never heard of DLO cables.

If you used RCA cables, did you make sure to choose the correct AV input/source?

If that still doesn't work, try the Samsung support chat like Photolady suggested.

I came back in to ask that same thing, and link to what you should be using but I see Midknyte got here first. If it were me, I'd change cables. The older ones may be what's causing your problems.

Midknyte" They are RCA cables. Choices for AV are: DVI, TV, IPTV, Blu Ray, HDDVD, DMA. None works. Maybe I am out of luck?? Guess I will link Samsung as the "lady" offers. Thanks guys for the help!!

According to one manual I found the TV has Component In (Y / Pb / Pr) inputs. If you switch the TV input to that input source then the MP3 player audio should work if plugged into the appropriately matched audio inputs (left/right) even without the video signal being present.

VirtualDr email notices are not working.

Yes ma'am. I studied it. It did not help. The word mp3 was not mentioned.

fink: Under Component: DMA is only one offered. It does not offer my mp3 player to perform.

I think your next step is to ask the Samsung tech. Maybe, if he knows what he's talking about and not one of those that just read the flipbook.
