Here's A Strange One............
I have a home network system that Has both Win XP & Win7 .. All do very well except one. It's a winxp & when I try to access the users folder on a win 7 the folder comes up blank. Yet I can do the same thing on another win7 & it will show the files. What would keep it from exposing the folders on this one PC with win 7?

Was it working before?
If not, check the network settings as shown here:

Well, ok....The "how to Geek.com" did not offer me anything that I didn't already know. So, it didn't resolve the issue. But strange as it may seem, this resolved the issue. I had recalled long ago, a thread regarding how to make networking move along faster with Win XP. Being that this pc was a recent addition to my network, I had forgotten to do the following:On each of the machines open the Registry and find the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace\
There should be a subkey under it named {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}
Delete this key. This key's presence causes windows to perform some extra and unnecessary checking throughout your network for scheduled tasks to be run on other computers. It can significantly slow down the browsing process.
Strangely, that resolved the issue...............
