IE will not access AOL email
Hi, I have an elderly neighbor that is having a problem accessing his AOL mail using IE version 8.
He can access the AOL main screen which is his home page but when he clicks on the email icon to access his email he gets another blank window that opens and does not load. Next to his address bar is a lock and when clicking on it a message reading
ENTRUST (2048
THIS CONNECTION TO THE SERVER IN ENCRIPTED
Should I Trust this Site.
I don't see anywhere that will give me the option to accept or trust this site.
My question is how do I turn off this feature or accept that this site is OK to open.
He likes IE and would like to use it for his email from AOL and for now I have him
using Firefox that allows him to access his AOL email with no problem.
My neighbor thinks I'm a computer genus which I'm not, but if I can help him fix his
problem I'll let him keep thinking that I am. He's 82 and will never know.
He's running Windows XP
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You could try adding mail.aol.com to the Trusted sites in Internet Explorer.

Well Wed. is here and I tried adding mail.AOL.com with no success.
He gets the AOL home page but when he clicks the mail icon a blank window opens with nothing loading and ending up with a blank page.
Again next to the address bar is a padlock if clicked it states ENTRUST (2048 THIS CONNECTION TO THE SERVER IS ENCRIPTED)
Any other ideas that I could try. I have him using Firefox and that works fine for now but he likes IE.
Thanks

ENTRUST (2048 THIS CONNECTION TO THE SERVER IS ENCR YPTED)
That means the site is using a 2048 bit key.
Did you try resetting IE to default settings?

Honestly, your friend is better off using Firefox. IE8 is no longer being patched (neither is XP). You can install addons like Adblock Plus also.
If he likes the classic style, check out this thread:
