[RESOLVED] Keys confused
The QUERT keys and the ASDF keys are confused. If the owner types any of those keys twice, he gets one of each letter.
i.e. press q and q appears, press q again and a appears
press w and w appears, press it again and s appears
Nothing has been spilled into the keys, it just started happening and I don't yet know the make and model of the laptop.
An external keyboard works fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks - rev

Since an external works fine, I would say it's time to replace the original.

FWIW, just replaced one on a Dell Inspiron 1525 today. Cost was ~$14.50, installation took maybe 5 minutes.

I didn't know it was that simple. That's obviously the way to go and doing so should expose whether or not the problem is somewhere else.

For many laptops anymore it's usually pretty cheap and not much trouble at all. Do a search for what you want to Amazon, for example: Amazon > Dell Inspiron 1525 keyboard silver and then do the same for a video: Youtube > replace Dell Inspiron 1525 keyboard.
