    Problem With Desktop Toolbar

On occasion after I turn the volume on, off or up then close the volume screen the icon on my desktop disappears and I cannot quick access my volume control unless I restart my computer. This also happens with my controls to turn off my touch pad mouse. Can I fix this and if so how can I fix this, without restarting my computer?

Note at the very end he suggests updating the sound driver from the manufacturer of your audio device.
